One the key components to the Farm Market iD database is the producer code. Through the government programs, each grower categorizes their involvement with a particular farm operation. They are either an Owner, Operator, Owner/Operator or Other. An Owner code signifies ownership of the land, but indicates they not actively farming the land. An Operator is the person actively farming the land for an Owner. An Owner/Operator both owns and farms the land. An Other, for all intents and purposes, is defined as none of the above.
FMiD FarmLink rests upon the foundation created by these producer codes. For example, a single grower can have multiple producer codes. As shown in our Sample Profile, a grower can be both an Operator for someone else's land and be their own Owner/Operator. FarmLink reveals the relationship between the Operator and the Owner(s).

Each page in the report relates to a single farm number. The total crop and acres planted are shown, as well as the Primary Producers' producer code. Any other person(s) associated with that given farmland are listed in the Associated Producers section, along with address, county and their producer code for the farmland. |
